Well, the family arrived for the festive season on the 15th of December and it has been a mad rush ever since.
On Thursday evening we decided to go to Dubai Mall and watch the famous fountain show. We believe it is the first and most important thing to be seen by anyone visiting Dubai for the first time. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We then headed to the food court to eat some well deserved fish and chips at London Fish & Chips. Yummy, always tasty.
On my birthday, 19 December, Paul booked tickets and we went up Burj Khalifa at 19:00. It was a completely different experience to go up at night. So beautiful and we even got to see a fountain show from above. Charmaine got a bit queezy from the flashing lights and unfortunately had to go down just after we got up there. Daniel stayed behind with us and we enjoyed the sites for a little while longer.
Yesterday, December 21, we visited Atlantis Aquaventure. Paul, Megan, Edwin and myself summed up the courage and went down the Leap of Faith. Wow, what an experience!!! It was scary but once up there you just go with the flow :-) I screamed like a little girl all the way down. Though it was scary all of us we will most certainly do it again.
Food and drinks are extremely expensive but when you are as cold as what we were, you would also be willing to pay AED 18 for a cup of coffee (ouch). Luckily we had some Entertainer vouchers for Shark Bites Restaurant which made lunch much more affordable at only AED 25 per person for a super tasty cheese burger.
Daniel then had an opportunity of swimming with some sharks and sting rays. He had lots of fun and we got some really nice photos!!
For us Dubains it was a little chilly at 27 degrees. We will definitely be back when it heats up a bit.
