Today was the big Gr3LT picnic.
During the initial coffee morning last month I had the pleasure of meeting some of the Moms and today it was very nice to meet all of the Dads and mingle a bit.
We arrived ten minutes late, with not another parent in sight, so we decided to picnic all on our own :-( Sat down, took out our cold drinks and to our delight spotted another 'lost' family. It wasn't long before another 8 families joined us. The kids played football, or should I rather say "the Dads played football while the kids desperately tried to get a shine of the ball"- hahaha. Luckily for the kids, the Dads tired very quickly and then it was time for the MEN to discuss some "serious" matters like rugby!! The Moms sat like real ladies at the table and had a super good laugh!!
It is nice to have such a diverse group of people come together from all over the world - from Russia, to New Zealand and all the way back to South Africa!!!
I must admit, it was much nicer than anticipated and we will most definitely enjoy getting together with the other families in the near future.
